Common Questions

Bi-fold or stacker — which should I choose?
A bi-fold clears more of the opening, because the panels fold away against the wall rather than sitting behind one another. A stacker is simpler to operate, generally more cost effective, and doesn't need wall space beside the opening. If you entertain a lot and want the wall gone, choose bi-fold; if you want an easy everyday door, choose a stacker.
Where do the panels go when they're open?
They fold concertina-style and stack against the wall at one or both ends of the opening. You need clear wall space for them, which is worth checking before you commit to bi-folds.
Are bi-fold doors weathertight?
Yes, when correctly specified and installed. There are more seals involved than in a slider, so installation quality matters more — which is one reason we install with our own team.
Can bi-folds be double glazed?
Yes. Because a bi-fold is a large area of glass, double glazing makes a real difference to comfort in both summer and winter.
How long will it take?
Production is typically completed within three to four weeks of your order being confirmed. Installation is usually finished in a single day, scheduled around your availability.
Can I arrange my own installation?
Yes. We offer supply only as well as supply and installation, so you can use your own trades if you prefer. Builders regularly order supply only from us.
