Aluminium Windows

Awning & Casement Windows Melbourne

Awning sashes hinge at the top and push outward; casement sashes hinge at the side. Both seal by compressing against the frame, which makes them the best-performing options for weather tightness and airflow.

Awning windows suit you if…

  • You want to leave a window open during light rain
  • The window sits above a bench, sink or in a bathroom
  • You want ventilation without compromising privacy
  • You're after the best weather seal available

Casement windows suit you if…

  • You want the full opening clear for maximum airflow
  • The window is reachable and won't obstruct a walkway
  • You want an unobstructed view when open
  • You're after a cleaner, more contemporary look

Both seal better than sliders, which matters for comfort and energy bills.

Common Questions

What's the difference between awning and casement?
An awning window is hinged at the top and opens outward from the bottom, so it sheds rain and can stay open in a shower. A casement is hinged at the side and swings out like a door, which gives you the whole opening clear for ventilation.
Are awning windows better for energy efficiency?
They generally seal better than sliding windows, because the sash compresses against the frame rather than sliding past a brush seal. Combined with double glazing they make a noticeable difference to comfort.
Can I get flyscreens on awning windows?
Yes. Because the sash opens outward, flyscreens fit on the inside of the frame, so they don't interfere with the window operating.
How long will it take?
Production is typically completed within three to four weeks of your order being confirmed. Installation is usually finished in a single day, scheduled around your availability.
Can I arrange my own installation?
Yes. We offer supply only as well as supply and installation, so you can use your own trades if you prefer. Builders regularly order supply only from us.
What colours are available?
Everything is finished in powder coat, with a wide standard colour range plus custom colours on request. Charcoal, black and monument are the most common choices we install.
